TheKennedyCommentary

ABORTION is the topic once again in this Kennedy Commentary.  It was prompted by a lawsuit that was filed in my home state of Minnesota attempting to void common sense laws relating to abortions. And I mean common sense!

One of the laws says women have a right to know all the facts about abortion before consenting to the procedure. This laws does not in any way infringe upon a woman's "reproductive rights" as the false narrative so often claims. Instead, it actually respects a woman enough to give her all of the information about abortion, just as a doctor would do before any other invasive surgical procedure.

Another of these supposedly over-restrictive laws says parents have a right to know if their minor daughter is seeking an abortion.  In most places a parent must give permission before their minor daughter could get her ears pierced, or gets a tattoo.  Why should it somehow be OK for parents to be kept in the dark when their child is about to undergo a serious medical procedure?

Let's face it, the attempts to hide information from these women and parents is a strong indicator of just how wrong abortion is.

One other thing I'd like to address is the issue of rape or incest exceptions in most abortion laws.  Recently passed laws in states such as Georgia do not include such exceptions -- and I applaud them.  The reason we pro-lifers oppose abortion is because it takes the life of an unborn baby.  The fact that the child was conceived in a heart-breaking way doesn't change that; it's not the baby's fault.  Therefore, I support only exceptions when the life of the mother is in danger (which is very rare with our modern medical technology).

Clearly, rape and incest are extraordinarily difficult and painful situations to deal with, but having an abortion will only victimize the mother a second time.  Many women in these circumstances have given birth to the baby and turned a tragedy into a triumph.  By either keeping the child or giving it up for adoption, they have taken what Satan meant for harm and slapped him in the face with it!

In any case, Pregnancy Resource Centers are available nationwide to help women coping with unplanned pregnancies. If the mother chooses to keep the baby, they provide a wide variety of help before and after the birth, including clothing, shelter, and food needs, as well as parenting training.

For women who have chosen to abort a baby, these centers provide Bible-based studies to help them forgive themselves so they can overcome the painful regret of their decision.

One final thought to ponder. A baby girl was born at a San Diego hospital in 2019 who weighed only 8.6 ounces.  Named Saybie, she is believed to be the world's tiniest surviving baby.  Saybie was born at 23 weeks and three days.  This should speak volumes about the humanity and viability of a baby at that early stage of gestation.  Saybie, who some would have considered just a blob of tissue at the time of her birth, was sent home this month as a healthy five pound little girl.

Let's never give up in our attempts to love these little ones and their mothers so we can see an end to abortion in our lifetime!

BORN ALIVE -- This is the most emotional Kennedy Commentary I have done to date.  It is a response to a 2019 vote in the U.S. Senate in which the Born Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act failed to advance.  It garnered 53 “yes” votes, but it took 60 votes in order to pass.

I won't say who voted how between Republicans and Democrats; I'll let you look into how your senators cast their ballots on the issue.  I am going to avoid the political labels because I don't want anyone to think this has anything to do with politics.  It is not about Democrat vs. Republican, or liberal vs. conservative.  It is about good vs. evil, civil society vs. barbarity.

I know these are strong words, but consider what this legislation would have done.  It merely would have given babies who survived an abortion the right to life-preserving care just like any other baby born at the same gestational age.

Instead, babies that survive an abortion can still be denied care, crying and writhing helplessly as they are left to die alone.  They may even be suffering the pain of saline burns related to the abortion attempt.  And yet, 44 senators heartlessly, selfishly, decided that these babies deserved no compassion whatsoever.  The average person wouldn't even let a puppy or kitten suffer such unimaginable cruelty!

We can disagree on what is best in regards to building a wall, or what is the best way to approach the economy, or health care, or whatever.  But this issue has no middle ground.  Forget the nonsensical narratives that this is about "women's rights" or "women's health" or "doctor-patient privacy."  Have our hearts become so seared in this country that we can't even see that this is a barbaric act of infanticide?

I challenge each of you to find out how your senator voted.  If they chose to allow the agonizing deaths of these most innocent, helpless victims - simply because of some morbid devotion to the practice of abortion - then I plead with you to never cast a ballot for them again.  God will not hold guiltless those who have played a role in allowing this vile scourge to continue.

IMMIGRATION AND SEPARATION ANXIETY -- There is a spiritual perspective to the whole issue of immigration today.  As I mentioned in an earlier commentary, during his presidency Bill Clinton agreed with former President Donald Trump on this issue. Clinton said during his 1995 State of the Union address, "All Americans...are rightly disturbed by the large numbers of illegal aliens entering our country. The jobs they hold might otherwise be held by citizens or legal immigrants. The public service they use impose burdens on our taxpayers."  He went on to say, "We are a nation of immigrants. But we are also a nation of laws. It is wrong and ultimately self-defeating for a nation of immigrants to permit the kind of abuse of our immigration laws we have seen in recent years."

Now some 20-plus years later that perspective has entirely changed for vast numbers American citizens and politicians.  Why?  I believe it's certainly one more indication that we are rapidly approaching the very end of the end times.

The Bible talks in Revelation about a one-world government (I mention this is chapter 10 of Kingdom Invaders).  Talk today of "removing borders," and comments such as "we are all citizens of the same world and we should embrace all of humanity as our brothers and sisters" sounds good.  But it indicates a growing worldwide mindset that is already wide open to a one-world government and one-world leader, which the Bible calls the Antichrist.

When you hear this issue discussed in the news in the coming days, view it with this biblical perspective in mind.  You may be absolutely amazed as you see Bible prophecy slowly being fulfilled before your very eyes!

GRACE GONE WILD -- On a 2018 edition of the radio program In the Market with Janet and Craig Parshall, they were discussing a lawsuit filed by a female teacher against the Christian school she had been working for. This woman had become pregnant, even though she was not married. In keeping with their moral standards, and no doubt in accordance with a signed code of conduct agreement, the school chose not to renew this teacher's contract.

In my opinion, the school did the right thing. As Janet pointed out, if the woman had been allowed to stay, the kids certainly would have begun asking questions about the husband -- which she did not have. The youngsters would then have been forced to process a morality opposed to biblical standards by an authority figure who was supposed to be a godly example.

What prompted this commentary was the viewpoint of a man who called in to the In the Market program. He reiterated several times that he just didn't see any grace being practiced by the school in their decision to let this teacher go.

This reminded me so much of the attitude that compelled me to write chapters 5 and 6 in Kingdom Invaders in which I address the problem of "Grace Gone Wild." This man was so focused on grace that he couldn't understand the concept of accountability.

Now don't get me wrong. I completely understand that we all mess up from time to time and are in need of God's immeasurable grace. But we also have a responsibility as Christians to repent, turn from our sin, and continue a lifelong pursuit of righteousness that pleases God.

This teacher did not deserve an extra measure of grace -- nor did she seek it. Rather than repent of her sin and ask the school's forgiveness for violating their code of conduct, this woman sued the school. And she didn't just sue to get her job back, she wanted to take an ugly vengeance by seeking in excess of a million dollars! This teacher was basically doubling down on her choice to rebel against God.

No matter the outcome of the lawsuit, those who chose to dishonor God in this case will, in the end, be held accountable. And those who tried to honor God to the best of their ability will ultimately be blessed. This is a universal and dependable biblical principle. Because perfect grace is only one attribute of God. He is also a God of perfect justice.

SCHOOL SHOOTINGS -- There has been so much commentary in the news about the cause -- availability of guns, bullying, a lack of mental illness treatment, etc. -- but the real answer has rarely been addressed. Instead of keeping guns out of schools (which would clearly be a good thing), the problem could be nearly eliminated if God is allowed back in.

The predicament facing public schools today can be traced back to the 1960's when prayer and Bible reading were no longer allowed in the schools by court order. While we may not see that as a controversial ruling today, at the time it overturned about two centuries worth of practice in the United States.

The consequences of telling God He is no longer welcome in our schools have been gradual, but hard to argue. For the first three decades or so following the ruling, academic excellence declined, while discipline issues such as fighting, vandalism, and crime increased. (These facts can be found at Wallbuilders.com where they examine the undeniable Christian heritage of our nation.) In the more recent two decades the problems have ramped up to the point that kids are actually killing one another.

Does it boggle your mind as it does mine that we are now talking about placing bullet-proof glass, metal detectors, and multiple armed guards in our schools simply so kids can learn without getting assassinated before going home each night? It is quite a sad commentary on our society today. But that is exactly what happens when a nation turns its back on God.

NEW AGE SLIPPERY SLOPE -- I must be a masochist because I'm going to address the controversial topic of yoga again.

Recently I posted some comments on a Facebook page rightfully commenting that yoga was developed by a Hindu guru with the express purpose of reaching out to their occultic god, the "universal soul." I added the truthful statement that many Christians have actually experienced demonic visitations after practicing yoga.

Whenever I say these things the backlash is harsh. I make the case in Kingdom Invaders that such militant defense of yoga tends to prove my point that there is a spiritual battle going on related to the practice.

The topic came to the forefront in my mind when I listened to a broadcast of Understanding the Times with Jan Markell. They brought up a fairly new phenomenon that has been invading the Kingdom of God in increasing measure -- so-called "Destiny Cards." According to one of the sound clips on the show, a man who used to be heavily into the occult said the "Destiny Cards" are virtually identical to the tarot cards he used to mess around with before becoming a Christian.

It made me wonder how the acceptance of the eastern religious practice of yoga in many of our churches today might be contributing to a lack of discernment in other areas, such as the use of these "renamed" tarot cards.

This appears to be a slippery slope. Eastern religion and the New Age continue to creep into the Church and we need to be remarkably vigilant in these last days!

IT'S ALL ABOUT THE NARRATIVE -- PART 3 --As with just about everything else in the mainstream media these days, illegal immigration is being framed in such a way as to be more palatable and acceptable to the average American.

Illegal immigration is almost always merely called "immigration" so as to lump the lawful together with the unlawful.  That way it gives the appearance that anyone who is opposed to illegal immigration is a racist -- and they are labeled that way in order to add shame to such opposition.

Let me put it on the record that I, and millions like me, are opposed to illegal immigration because it is not good for the country, not because we have even one racist bone in our bodies.

As the president said during the State of the Union address, "All Americans...are rightly disturbed by the large numbers of illegal aliens entering our country.

Oh, did I forget to mention, that was not President Donald Trump speaking those words, but President Bill Clinton in his 1995 State of the Union address.  Apparently the narrative changes when it is politically expedient.

One final thought on the topic.  The "dreamer" issue is a tough one because these children had no control over being brought here by their illegal immigrant parents.  But whatever happens, they should not be put at the head of the line in front of those who have been going through the process of seeking citizenship legally.  That would be an affront to fairness, not to mention the rule of law.

NET NEUTRALITY FALSE NARRATIVE -- Be alert to the reality of internet "net neutrality" rules. The name could in and of itself be considered a false narrative.  It gives the impression that without these rules there will be some companies with more power to control the internet than others. In particular, it has been said that the large providers will control what we can and cannot access on the internet.

The reality is, and it would be my guess that most you haven't heard this in the mainstream media, that the net neutrality rules had only been in place for a few years.  And it's true that the issue is all about control of the internet.  But the rules were implemented by the Obama administration as a way of giving the government more control over the web.  This has actually stifled the internet and impeded investment in next-generation networks.

The internet that we know and love today grew and functioned quite well for its first 20 years without net neutrality.  A return to the previous market-based regulations will once again give companies incentive to invest, creating a better internet.

One final thought on net neutrality. The government is already forcing Christians such as cake bakers and florists to go against their biblical convictions when they do not want to service so-called gay weddings. They are literally being forced out of business because they are standing up for their Christian beliefs. If the government feels it has the right to do that to Christian business owners, who's to say a government-controlled internet won't censor similar biblical thought, such as I am sharing right now, because it is considered hate speech?

IT'S ALL ABOUT THE NARRATIVE - PART 2 -- Perhaps you've heard about the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions Movement, otherwise known as BDS. As defined in Wikipedia, BDS is a global campaign attempting to increase economic and political pressure on Israel to end what it describes as violations of international law.

Such a movement would not have gotten off the ground without the supportive media narrative that Israel is as much a human rights abuser toward its Arab population, including Palestinians, as South Africa was to its black citizens during Apartheid.

The United Nations joins in this false narrative by declaring far more resolutions denouncing Israel than every other country combined -- even those that routinely imprison and murder their own citizens for disagreeing with government policies, or for merely being a Christian!

The truth is, Arabs who want to live and work peacefully with their Jewish neighbors in Israel are able to do just that -- and have done so for decades.

I talk about this bizarre distain for Israel and the Jewish people in Kingdom Invaders. It is nothing more than a hatred fueled supernaturally by Satan toward God's chosen people (Deuteronomy 7:6).

We must always keep in mind what the Lord says in Genesis 12:3 about the nation of Israel: "I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse..."

May the United States forever be a nation that blesses Israel!

IT'S ALL ABOUT THE NARRATIVE - PART 1  -- back when President Donald Trump recognized Jerusalem as Israel's capitol, the media accounts made it appear that he had absolutely lost his mind. They created a narrative that simply did not match reality. Certainly the ill-advised move would doom the Israeli-Palestinian peace process and destabilize the Middle East -- if not the entire world!

But I would guess that a significant number of you reading this commentary have not heard from the same media sources that Mr. Trump was only following through on a common-sense resolution approved by Congress way back in 1995. Every president since has signed a twice-yearly waiver putting off the move.

We recognize the self-proclaimed capitol of every other country in the entire world. Why not Israel? It is really only anti-Semitism that prevents the nations of the world from recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capitol.

And surprise surprise, the sky hasn't fallen and the Middle East is not burning. Israel has only been the victim of the usual unprovoked attacks from its enemies since Trump's proclamation.

CHRISTIANITY IN IRAN -- You've no doubt heard about the widespread demonstrations that have recently been taking place in Iran. The commonly reported reasons are government corruption, a struggling economy, and the unpopular use of the country's military in neighboring Syria.

But why now?  Could it be that Christianity is having a growing impact in this officially Islamic nation? Credible reports show that the theocratic leadership of Iran is becoming increasingly concerned about the vast numbers of its citizens who are rejecting Islam and becoming Christians, despite the severe consequences they likely will face.

In Kingdom Invaders, I warn of the Islamic strategy to take over the world for Allah. But you know what, our God is all-powerful and He is bringing in a harvest of souls even in a spiritually dark place like Iran.

Let's make sure to look at Muslims through the compassionate eyes of God -- understanding them to be trapped in a satanic prison that will lead to an eternal death sentence unless they accept Jesus as their Savior.
